Solder the ribbon cables to the MCU
On the Elite-C shield, check the version.
If you have the rev2 of the shield
Simply connect the 5 and 6 ribbon cables from the plate PCB to the headers on the shield. Make sure the legends align.
If you have the rev1
- On the plate PCB, locate the top 2 ribbons: one of 6, one of 5:
For each side, you will solder the main plate PCB to the elite-C shield PCB.
Both sides are not the same, so double check before soldering:
- Install the elite-C shield with the elite-C in the case, screw them
- Install the plate and thumb cluster PCB
- Check that the usb-C and audio jack are aligned (if you managed to screw the shield in, they will be)
- Check that the plate and thumb cluster align to the holes in the case
- Check that the diodes are on the visible side (not between the PCB and the case)
- Once you have checked, take everything out of the case
Soldering the 6-ribbon cables to the MCU
Reference picture:
When soldering, make sure the cable is coming out of the top part of the MCU (with the components). Look at the picture above to double-check.
Depending on which version you are building, the numbering of the rows might be one-off.
Use the Columns numbering to make sure the ribbon cable is aligned properly.
- Locate the 6-cable ribbon cable
- One end is already soldered to the plate PCB
- Solder the other end to the elite-C.
- Use the table under to double-check the correct orientation

- Locate the 6-cable ribbon cable
- One end is already soldered to the plate PCB
- Bend it 90 degrees, directed towards the bottom
- It is now facing towards the bottom
- Reverse it on itself, towards the top
