RGB Cables
In this section is explained how to install the RGB cables. If you don't have RGB, you can skip to the next section !
Pre-flight checks
Before installing the cables, double check...
- You installed all the diodes on the thumb cluster and plate PCBs
- If you're building with RGB, that you installed all the LEDs, the capacitors, and resistors
RGB cables - top connector
If you have per-key RGB, start by installing the cables for it.
The RGB cables must be connected in a very specific way, please read the following section very carefully !
There are two RGB connectors on each plate PCB: one Din, one Dout. They have 3 holes.
The in connector is located on top of the plate, next to the resistor and capacitor. It is circled in Red in the pictures below.

- Strip the ends of the red, black and yellow cables
- Make sure you install them on the same side as the components
- Install one in each hole:
- red for vcc
- black for gnd
- yellow for Din
Notice in the picture below: the cables are installed on the same side as the components, next to the resistor and capacitor, on the Din pin.
RGB cables - bottom connector
The out connector is located at the bottom of the plate. It has no resistor and capacitor next to it. It is circled in Green in the pictures below.

- Cut 2 * ribbons of 3 cables
- Solder them in the pins
- Make sure you install them on the same side as the components
Notice in the picture below: the ribbon cables are installed on the same side as the components, on the Dout pin.
Here is what the plate should look like now:
