Pre-flight checks
Before installing the cables, double check...
- You installed all the diodes on the thumb cluster and plate PCBs
Installing the RGB cables
If you are building with RGB, refer to this guide:
Then check that you installed:
- All the LEDs,
- The capacitors and resistors
- The red black yellow cables
- The 3-ribbon cables
Ribbon cables - preparation
Cut the ribbon cables using scissors or a cutter.
For the Scylla:
- 4 * ribbons of 6 cables
- 2 * ribbons of 5 cables
For the TBK Mini/Skeletyl:
- 2 * ribbons of 6 cables
- 2 * ribbons of 5 cables
- 2 * ribbons of 4 cables
Ribbon cables - plate PCB
- Install the ribbon cables on the same side as the components (as the pictures below)
- Solder them on the other side
The plate PCBs will now look like this:

If you have per-key RGB, the plates will look like this:
Ribbon cables - thumb cluster
Read the instructions list carefully, as it is easy to mess up the connection.
Use the picture for reference.
- Locate the bottom ribbon connector on the main plate
- Connect the other end to the thumbs pcb
- Make sure you install them on the same side as the components
- Make sure you connect the left plate with the left thumb cluster (green arrow on the picture),
- And the right plate to the right thumb cluster
- Make sure the legends align - the row pin on the plate pcb should connect to the row pin on the thumb cluster pcb, and the columns should be aligned with the same numbers (red arrow on the picture)
Ribbon cables - RGB
If you have RGB, here is how to connect the ribbon cable.
- Locate the 3-ribbon cable you soldered earlier
- Double-check it's soldered to the bottom of the plate, next to the Dout indication
- Install it into the 3-holes connector of the thumb cluster
- Install it on the same side as the components, and make sure the Dout of the plate is connected to the Din of the thumb cluster, as well as Vcc to Vcc and Gnd to Gnd
